Additional Property Attributes

The site has been used for salvaged auto parts storage and vehicle dismantling from approx. 1998 to present. This site use represents a REC. A UST is associated with the maintenance garage and connected to floor drains within, and an out-of-service elevator is present in the building. The UST, floor drains and the elevator were identified as RECs in the Phase I ESA. No Phase II ESA has been conducted to date. It is unknown if cleanup will be necessary.

Former Use: The site was developed with the existing building in 1948. The site was historically occupied by Scottsbluff Ice and Storage, Packerland Packing Company, Nebraska Beef & Packers, and Stanko Packing Company Inc. Historical city directories indicate that the site was used as an ice and storage facility up until approximately 1982. Interview information suggests that the on-site building was vacant for 15 years prior to Rich�s Wrecking and Salvage purchasing the property in 1998. The site has been used for salvaged auto parts storage and vehicle dismantling since approximately 1998 to the present time. Ownership: Richs Wrecking & Used Cars, Inc. from 1998-2014. Previous site owners include: Packerland Packing Company, Inc.; Nebraska Beef Packers/ Stanko Packing Company; Scottsbluff Ice and Storage Company; Union Land Company and various private individuals.
