Additional Property Attributes

Additional sampling is suggested to determine if cleanup is required at this site. Historic records reveal undocumented landfill activities which may have generated volatile organic compound (VOC), semi-volatile organic compound(SVOC), pesticide, polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB), and metal contamination. Additionally, methane may be present and has the potential to migrate. An unaccounted for underground storage tank (UST) located east of the southeast corner of the former building foundation may have caused VOC and petroleum hydrocarbon contamination.

Former Use: The site has historically served as cropland, a site for liquid tire fill storage tanks, and a city owned concrete and construction material landfill. Most recently, the north half of the site was the location of the Pacific Coast Feather Company facility. The facility was destroyed by a tornado on October 4th, 2013. The City of Wayne purchased the property in May 2014.
