Additional Property Attributes

The Washington County Economic Development Group is considering acquiring the property for redevelopment; however, concerns with the potential amount of asbestos and lead-based paint in building materials dissuaded their interest. DNR 128(a) funds were used to determine the extent, scope, and cost estimate for asbestos and lead-based paint abatement. Subject to the group's decision to proceed, they will conduct further all appropriate inquiry for environmental due diligence before acquiring the property.

Former Use: The property contains a 3-story apartment building, with 16 units, constructed in 1940. The building has been vacant since 2012. The building has lacked maintenance for more than a decade, and previous tenants were involved with drug (methamphetamine) manufacturing. The property was last sold in 2006 under contract to Jars enterprises, LLC.
