Additional Property Attributes

The original log cabin was built on-site in, or before, approximately 1882. Over time additions and buildings were added to the property. Between 1902 and 1912 the buildings were joined together by siding. The site was operated as rental property. In early 2015, the owner received a notice from the city outlining several items that deemed the property uninhabitable. The property has been vacant since January 2015 and was later proposed to be demolished. Asbestos-containing material (ACM), lead-based paint (LBP), and lead in soils were identified at the site. In 2016, the North Missoula Development Corporation proposed to build seven affordable townhouses in a complex called Lee Gordon Place after demolition and was permitted to do so by the Missoula Redevelopment Agency. In 2019, construction was completed for the Lee Gordon Place which included four two-bedroom units, two four-bedroom units, and one fully handicapped accessible two-bedroom unit. The estimated sale prices of these units was $148,000, $175,000, and $135,000, respectively.

Former Use: The property was donated to the North Missoula Development Corporation. DEQ was responsible for the excavation of soils exceeding residential direct contact screening levels.
