Additional Property Attributes

Historically, the Site was undeveloped agricultural land and rural-residential in use until sometime after 1951 when the northern part of the Site began to be developed with commercial buildings, including a supermarket grocery store in the northwest part of the Site and a service station in the northeast corner of the Site. The service station had been through at least two different configurations before the underground storage tanks (UST) were removed in 1992. By the 1960s, a large complex of buildings identified as Machinery Exchange on historical Sanborn maps, was located centrally on the Site. Several of these buildings later were demolished and replaced with other buildings on the southern part of the Site, also labeled as being a Machinery Exchange on the Sanborn maps. Interviews with the property owner indicate that these buildings were the location of a former lumber equipment auction business. Later the lumber equipment auction business was replaced by a number of vehicle maintenance businesses, including several currently located on the Site. Wilco Farm Store has submitted plans for a potential redevelopment of the site.
