The community garden site at Holmes Avenue and 118th Street is situated in a food desert, with few options for fresh, affordable healthy food. The community garden has vegetable garden beds, a small children's play area, a seating area, fruit tree orchard and a workshop space for learning about gardening and healthy eating. The garden site is situated to the Martin Luther King Community Health Center and is an opportune location for seminars on healthy eating and active living taught by Health Center staff.
