Additional Property Attributes

Property is a former Ice House, operated for nearly 100 years. The building has been in a dilapidated condition due to lack of use, a relatively recent fire that cause the roof to collapse in one part, and frequently visited by vagrants. Site consists of TPH-DRO contamination in shallow soils and ammonia in groundwater. Institutional Controls in the form of an Environmental Covenant have been placed on the property in conjunction with a cleanup plan that has been approved by MDEQ through its Brownfield Program. The Brownfield Party is a new developer having acquired the site to redevelop it into a new restaurant alongside adjacent property that will be developed for other mixed use activities (e.g., apartments, bank, another restaurant). Redevelopment and cleanup is expected to occur in 2023.
