Additional Property Attributes

The City of Charlotte has acquired the subject property. The proposed development will consist of demolishing the blighted building and a city pocket park will be constructed. The city intends to invest approximately $35,000 into the property and is expected to create an estimated 10 temporary construction jobs.

Former Use: The Property consists of two attached buildings on 0.07 acres of privately owned land in downtown Charlotte. The Property contained several buildings from at least 1886 until approximately 1895. One building was used for laundry. By 1904, the buildings were razed and the current building at 110 E. Lawrence Ave was constructed. The 108 E. Lawrence building was constructed by 1950. Since then, the Property has been used for various commercial purposes including a tin/ sheet metal shop, tire store, vulcanizing shop, office space, and dry cleaner. The Property is currently vacant.
