Additional Property Attributes

The Site operated as the Ricker?s Cold Spring Garage, a DeSoto-Plymouth automobile dealership and auto repair facility, beginning in 1910 and continued as a dealership/garage until 1984. It is unknown what the function of the Site was after that time; however, the Site is believed to have been abandoned since the 1990s. The Town is considering acquiring the property through back taxes as the former owner is deceased with no heirs and the trust is defunct.

Former Use: The Site is a 0.82-acre parcel that is developed with a vacant, dilapidated one-story building (Site building) and shed, both of which were constructed in 1910. Parts of the Site building roof are partially collapsed and the majority of the southeastern portion of the Site building is completely collapsed. Large amounts of solid waste is scattered inside and outside the Site building. Additionally, wetlands associated with the nearby Cochecho River are located along the southern Site boundary. The Site operated as the Rickers Cold Spring Garage, a DeSoto-Plymouth automobile dealership and auto repair facility, beginning in 1910 and continued as a dealership/garage until 1984. It is unknown what the function of the Site was after that time; however, the Site is believed to have been abandoned since the 1990s. In September 2013, after a local citizens complaint, New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NHDES) consolidated, inventoried, and photographed all oil and hazardous materials found in the stable and accessible areas of the Site building. On September 20, 2013, TRADEBE Environmental Services removed and disposed of hazardous materials including, but not limited to, oils, solvent-based cleaners, paint waste, corrosive liquids, universal wastes (fluorescent bulbs), and other oil and hazardous materials. However, NHDES did not enter the structurally compromised portions of the building, therefore, there may be additional wastes located within these portions of the building.
