Additional Property Attributes

Redevelopment plans include development of a new distillery

Former Use: Standard and other historical sources were able to document that three residential dwellings and three residential garages were present on the property in at least 1898. The northeastern garage was demolished by 1908, when an additional residential dwelling was constructed in the same general area. An additional residential garage was constructed to the west of the northwestern dwelling by 1951. The former residential dwellings located along East Shiawassee Street (southern portion of the property) were demolished between 1953 and 1965/1966, when an office building was constructed in the central portion of the property. The office building was demolished in 1995 and was historically occupied by various professional office tenants. The current building was constructed in the western portion of the property in 1966 and was occupied by a printing business from construction until 1980, was occupied by a retail auto parts store from 1980 until late 2015, and has been vacant of occupants since that time. The dwelling in the northeastern portion of the property was demolished between 1985 and 1994.
