Property Highlights

The site is currently used as the Nash County Courthouse and jail. The remainder of the site will be developed with a jail expansion. A former dry cleaners and printer were located on the site.

Former Use: This 3.48 acre parcel is located at 234 West Washington Street in Nashville, Nash County, North Carolina and recorded as PIN Number 3801-1951-2631 by the Nash County Tax Administration Office. The subject site is located in a generally commercial and professional area. The subject site is zoned B-2 (Downtown Business) by the Town of Nashville Zoning Department. At the time of site inspection, the subject site was developed two structures. The main structure serves as the Nash County Courthouse, the Nash County Sherriff�s Department�s office, and the county jail. The second structure, along West Washington Street, is occupied by the Nash County Health and Human Services Department. Based on review of historic information the subject site has been occupied by the Nash County Courthouse since at least 1917. The Courthouse and county jail have expanded throughout time, with the most recent expansion occurring in 1998. The county courthouse is in the process of expanding again with the completed expansion planned for completion in 2018.
