Institutional and Engineering Controls

No
Before the water supply well on the subject property is put back into service, the onsite water supply well system will be sampled for laboratory analysis of VOCs, PNAs, and lead. Until laboratory analytical results verify that the water is potable, signs will be posted over every plumbing fixture stating that the water is to be used for non-potable purposes only.

Except for wells and devices that are part of a MDEQ-approved response activity, construction or use of new wells or other devices to extract groundwater for irrigation, or any other use will be prohibited, without prior evaluation and/or implementation of appropriate treatment or other engineering controls required to prevent potential exposures through ingestion or to prevent exacerbation of existing soil and/or groundwater impact.
