Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site is located at 14 Depot Street, parcel 34-78 in Goffstown, New Hampshire. Available Sanborn Maps for the site show several lumber and coal sheds, store houses, and a grain storage building on the parcel in 1892. Sanborn Maps and historical photographs indicate the presence of several buildings on the parcel until 1985, when the number of buildings decreased to only two. Between 1985 and 1998, the last two buildings were demolished (may have burned down, based on verbal information provided). The lumber and coal storage sheds were identified as Kendall Hadley & Co. (sash, blind, and window manufacturer) on the 1921 Sanborn Map through the last available Sanborn Map in 1958, noting the presence of a coal pile that may have extended onto the subject property. The John L. Putnam & Sons coal sheds were also identified on the parcel in 1941, but were removed by 1958. Reportedly, since the demolition of the buildings, the site has been vacant cleared land, other than that used for parking by the bank on the northern portion. A railroad corridor also ran through the northern portion of the parcel. Based on historical aerial photos available, the railroad appeared to be removed prior to 1985.
