Additional Property Attributes

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment is conducting a Phase I Brownfields Targeted Assessment (BTA) at the City of Norton - East Development site located in Norton, KS. The BTA is being conducted for the City of Norton who is representing the non-profit Valley Hope Foundation to build a new facility at the proposed site. Which is currently undeveloped agricultural land. Currently, the application has been approved and letter mailed. The Backdoor site located at 202 East Holme St. is listed in the LUST and UST databases and is located approximately 0.277 mile west-northwest of the property. This site is enrolled in the KDHE LUST Trust Fund and currently active in long term monitoring. No further assessment is warranted through the Brownfields Program at this time based on the monitor status of the Backdoor site in the KDHE LUST Trust Fund. Based on the active regulatory status for the LUST Trust Fund, this site is considered a REC for the property. Olsson Associates did not believe that the property has been affected by this LUST site so no further environmental investigation is recommended. No further investigation is needed through the Brownfields Program and the property is cleared for redevelopment.

Former Use: Based on historical resources the property was used for agricultural purposes.
