The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) completed a Phase I Brownfields Targeted Assessment (BTA) at the above referenced property in Hutchinson, Kansas. Based on the Phase I report, �Recognized Environmental Conditions� (RECs) were identified as potential hazardous and/or petroleum products due to an adjoining property to the north with two underground storage tanks. However, based on the Phase I assessment, the site does not seem to have been affected by this adjoining property. No further investigation is needed through the Brownfields Program and the property is cleared for redevelopment. A NESHAP Asbestos, Lead-Based Paint and Mold Survey was also conducted on the site. Asbestos containing material (ACM), lead-based paint and mold was identified in some areas of the building. Abatement of these ACMs will likely be required prior to demolition activities.
