Additional Property Attributes

Subject site was discovered by historical resources stemming from 1938. Current conditions at the site include boiler ruins, concrete platform for former steam engine and electrical generator, concrete foundations of the sawmill building, outhouse ruins, lumber from living quarters, drying kiln ruins, stained and corroded floors, walls, and drains, uncontained debris, refuse or unidentified waste materials, one small office building, 10-20 one to two room camp houses to house employees, and a cookhouse. PECs include lubricant leakage that may have contaminated soils, P.A.H. contaminated ash from boilers and asbestos in the brick and mortar of the boiler structure.

Former Use: Historical evidence suggests the subject site was an active sawmill site for some period of time before 1930. It went through a larger numbers of owners over the years. At one point, the sawmill was disassembled and some of the equipment was relocated out of state in 1942. Many buildings were left on site. The shop building is still present to date.
