Additional Property Attributes

The site building is the historical Claremont National Bank that is located adjacent to City Hall, which is the historic Claremont Opera House. Former Use: The Site is comprised of a 0.1 acre rectangular parcel of land, and contains a two story brick building with a basement. The Site is currently unoccupied and not in use. The building is abutted by buildings to the north, south, and partially to the east, with partial access to a courtyard, and has sidewalk frontage on the western side of the building. The Site building was originally constructed in 1864 as a bank, which was later changed to the Claremont National Bank in 1876. Claremont National Bank became Claremont Savings Bank in 1907 and they operated at the Site until 1954 when they outgrew the building and relocated to another part of Claremont. It is believed the Site building operated as a restaurant for some time following the bank's departure; however, the building has been vacant since 1985.
