Additional Property Attributes

At a time when the City decides to relocate the DPW Garage, next steps such as cleanup planning will take place.

Former Use: The Site is comprised of a 5-acre parcel located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Aldis and North Elm Streets and is owned by the City of St. Albans, Vermont. The Site structures consist of a main building (a 60-foot by 160-foot steel sided, slab-on-grade structure which houses office space, a repair/maintenance area, and a vehicle garage); a pole barn used for cold storage; and a smaller storage shed also used for cold storage. The structures are located on the southern portion of the Site. The northern portion is used for storage of construction supplies and as a temporary staging area for soils excavated from DPW projects around the City. A small skate park is located at the southeast corner of the Site. The City of St. Albans is considering relocating the current DPW facility on Aldis Street to a new location. The purpose of this investigation is to support a potential property transaction and/or redevelopment of the Site.
