Former Use: The Site is composed of one 2.22-acre parcel of land located at 26 Marshall Street in Nashua, New Hampshire, and is currently owned by 22 Marshall Street, LLC. Proctor Brothers & Company was present at the Site from approximately 1885 through 1930, manufacturing wooden casks. In 1930, ownership transferred to Beebe Bros. Rubber Co. (Beebe), makers of rubber soles and heels, and by 1970, the main Beebe building expanded across the Site and the two northerly lots as well with an approximately 97,000 square foot building footprint. The wood/coal fired boiler used by Beebe was replaced by 1969 with an oil-fired boiler. Mohawk Rubber bought the Beebe Rubber Company circa 1969, and operated the facility until approximately 1986, at which point the Chardon Rubber Company (Chardon) owned and operated the facility until 2002, manufacturing rubber automotive window gaskets. The 97,000 square foot building and concrete slab were demolished by Chardon in 2003, leaving the Site vacant and enclosed by a chain link fence.
