Additional Property Attributes

Located between two MARTA stations, the 27-acre Pratt-Pullman Yard includes 11 buildings, totaling 153,000 square feet, and is in a historic district surrounded by Atlanta's Kirkwood neighborhood. The City's Brownfield Program provided assistance with completing a cleanup plan. Atomic Entertainment Development, LLC (Atomic) has entered into Brownfield Cleanup Revolving Loan Fund loans with the City of Atlanta and DeKalb County to help cover the estimated $1 to $2 million cleanup costs to remove lead-based paint, asbestos and contaminated soil. Atomic estimates that the total redevelopment costs will approach $125 million. Atomic purchased the property for $8 million from the State of Georgia in 2017. The mixed use development will include movie and television production sets, office, hotel, and restaurant, entertainment and public spaces. The redevelopment is estimated to create 1,000 temporary construction jobs and 260 permanent jobs. Redevelopment may be completed by 2021. Former Use: Historical aerial photographs, Sanborn maps, chain of ownership search and personnel interviews were utilized to document the site history extending to early 1900s.The subject property is occupied by 11 buildings on an inactive rail yard. The subject property has been used as a storage facility since the 1990s. The property once operated as a forge, foundry, manufacturing facility and chemical warehouse.
