The property has been purchased by the Kentucky Highlands Investment Corp and single family houses are being constructed on the property. The adjoining property was involved in a state led corrective action concerning leaking underground storage tanks. Phase II work included the installation, sampling and removal of groundwater monitor wells. The results indicated that no impacted groundwater was migrating towards the subject property.

Former Use: Was used as a trailer park for up to 10 units. The Rockcastle County Property Valuation Administrator identified the owner of subject property at 193 West Main Street as Mount Vernon Enterprises, Inc (as of 2009). The parcel has transferred to different entity names, but has reportedly been owned by the same family since the 1950s. According to the latest deed, the owner of the subject property at the dead end of Poplar Street is Mount Vernon Enterprises, LLC (as of September 2016). The previous owner of the parcel was First Christian Church.
