Addl Cleanup/Treatment info: The Mississippi Children?s Museum utilized the Asbestos and LBP information to secure a contract with an MDEQ-certified asbestos abatement contractor. Asbestos abatement and demolition were completed in January and February 2019 making way for the redevelopment of the property into the Mississippi Children?s Museum Annex. Roughly $107,000 was leveraged from Lauderdale County. It has been estimated that 172 construction jobs will be created with 31 permanent jobs. The project will have $25 million in economic spending initially with another $2.6 million annually.
