Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The site is the former HPI facility that was used to mix herbicides. The property is under a RCRA decree by the EPA. Past site usage is a car dealership in the 1950's. The current building is in poor condition with the roof falling in and needs to be demolished. Transients continually break into the building. Adjacent properties are the YMCA daycare, fire station, etc. and it has become an environmental issue and needs to be addressed. Anticipated future use is that the fire department will use the area as green space, and a driveway to fire apparatus bays is to be built to the south of current the building at 401 S. 7th Street. If fire department can acquire the property it would be demolished and cleaned up or capped.
