Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Former African American hotel and dining hall during segregation years which welcomed entertainers such as Aretha Franklin, James Brown and B.B. King. Property has been unused and vacant for many years. A new owner has purchased the building to restore to a mixed use building. Cleanup is being funded through the South Louisiana BCRLF to prepare the site for reuse.
