Additional Property Attributes

GFDA & MT DEQ worked together to fill data gaps on this property. The property is looking to be sold and redeveloped.

Former Use: Evidence of a petroleum release from an underground storage tank (UST) was first noted in 1985 through discrepancies in inventory records. Later in 1985, three 3,000 gallon USTs were removed and during the excavation further evidence of tank leakage was observed in the form of gasoline odors and stained soil in the tank basin. In 2004 approximately 6,700 cubic yards of impacted soil was removed from the site. Confirmation soil samples were collected as part of the excavation; however, confirmation groundwater samples were never collected. As a result, the release could not be closed. The owner of the property at that time, Jim Savoy, declined to complete the required work. The property ultimately was foreclosed on by the IRS and sold at auction. Donald Lloyd purchased the property and operated the site as a pharmacy until 2015 when he decided to sell the land. Attempts to sell the land failed due to the perceived presence of petroleum contamination. As such, the applicant obtained brownfields funding to complete a phase II ESA, which was jointly funded through GFDA's assessment grant and MTDEQ's 128(a) grant.
