Additional Property Attributes

the Site consists of 89 parcels (totaling approximately 729.2 acres) situated along the Black River in downtown Lorain, Ohio. The parcels are owned by multiple landowners. Generally, the Site consists of areas adjacent to the Black River corridor beginning at the mouth of the Black River at Lake Erie, proceeding to the south and east, and terminating adjacent to the north of the U.S. Steel Mill located along E. 28th Street. Historically, portions of the Site situated to the west of the Black River were occupied by the Lorain industrial corridor, including the former Ohio Edison Lorain Plant #1, located along Oberlin Avenue; the Lorain Pellet Terminal, bounded to the west by Broadway, and the east by the Black River; portions of the Baltimore & Ohio (B&O) rail yards, located between Broadway and the Black River; industrial development (National Gypsum Co. & Ashland Oil Co.), situated along the northern bank of the Black River to the north of the Republic Steel Mill; and Cromwell Park, located adjacent to the east of the National Gypsum Co. development.
