Current Use: The subject property has been cleaned up and is ready for redevelopment. The underground storage tanks at the facility have been removed with a "No Further Action Letter" obtained from WV DEP for the tank closures. Former Use: The subject property operated as a gasoline service station since the early 1960?s. The property is now vacant.The Wellsburg URA has been contacted by interested parties that wish to redevelop the property. The subject property is located in a heavily traveled commercial and service district on WV-2 (Commerce Street) in Wellsburg, WV. The property location and size make it viable for redevelopment of any number of commercial needs. the Subject Property was developed in 1959 as an automotive repair facility and gasoline service station. During operations, one building was present on the Subject Property and used as an automotive repair facility. The Subject Property was reportedly used for those purposes until 2009 when a fire destroyed the automotive repair facility building. Since 2009, the Subject Property has been unused and the building was demolished in 2016/2017. Reportedly, the Underground Storage Tanks (USTs) associated with the gasoline service station are empty but remain in place on the Subject Property. The Subject Property currently contains two canopies with two dispensers each associated with the former gasoline service station. The foundation and concrete floor of the former building are present, but no other remnants of the building are left on the Subject Property.
