Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property consists of four parcels with an approximately 3,600-square-foot auto repair shop, an approximately 500-square-foot vacant building, and an approximately 100 square-foot vacant former office building. The property behind the auto repair shop is utilized for auto salvage. The balance of the subject property is grass or tree-covered with no structures. The current owner inherited three of the subject property parcels from his father, and purchased the fourth (westernmost) parcel in 1995. According to historical documents reviewed and interviews, residences occupied the subject property from at least 1950 through the mid-2000s. The subject property was also utilized as an automobile salvage yard from the mid-1950s through approximately 2010. The building on the southeastern portion of the subject property currently utilized for auto repair was also previously utilized as a towing company and the vacant building near the intersection of Old Barren River Road and Woodford Avenue was previously a residence and general store as well as a small engine repair facility. There have reportedly been no aboveground or underground storage tanks on the subject property. The historical use of the subject property as an auto salvage facility for over 50 years, along with intermittent use for various auto repair activities, is identified as a recognized environmental condition.
