The City is planning to demolish this old dilapidated building and redevelop it to include retail/service businesses that will enhance the appeal of the town. The first step is to assess for the presence of asbestos and thus they have requested Brownfields assistance in performing the asbestos survey. Former Use: The subject property consists of a masonry, two story plus basement, former high school building on the south side of Carthage, Miner County, SD. The building is approximately 70? north-south by 76? east-west, for about 5320 sq ft per floor. The building is believed to have an original part, and south addition. The building is unoccupied. The building is pending demolition
