Additional Property Attributes

The City is planning to redevelop the land west of the Pryntcomm Property. The Pryntcomm Property is included as a potential piece of property for sale. This will potentially improve the ability to draw a developer. Once the land is developed, it will increase sales tax revenue to benefit the Pierre community. The first step is to assess the property for potential contamination (Phase I) and for the presence of asbestos. Former Use: Historical resources were reviewed for the site prior to 1940; however specific site use details were not always presented in the data. The data suggests the site was vacant or agricultural land until about 1884 when 2-3 dwellings and commercial buildings were constructed on-site. Commercial uses have included stable, millinery, carpenter, paint shop, blacksmith, wagon shop, machine shop, foundry, used car sales, VFW club, taverns, and printing companies (from about 1962 to 2019).
