Additional Property Attributes

A vapor intrusion assessment was conducted in the vicinity of the former drycleaning facility. The assessment consisted of vapor intrusion sampling at three residential structures and eight commercial facilities as well as the collection of 11 groundwater samples. Vapor intrusion sampling revealed the presence of tetrachloroethene (PCE) in sub-slab soil gas at four commercial structures and one residence above the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP) Remediation Goals (RGs); two residences had exceedances in indoor air. Trichloroethene (TCE) was detected above VCP RGs for indoor air at two commercial structures. Several other volatile organic compounds were detected exceeding VCP RGs for indoor air in the residences and commercial structures. These include 1,2,4-trimethylbenzene, 1,2-dichloroethane, 1,4-dichlorobenzene, benzene, carbon tetrachloride, chloroform, and ethlybenzene. Several of the groundwater samples had detections of PCE and TCE in concentrations exceeding VCP RGs for both direct contact and vapor intrusion. A complete exposure pathway has been identified between groundwater contamination and indoor air. The site is being referred to the Environmental Protection Agency's Removal Program.

Former Use: The south end of the property was occupied by a drycleaning facility that generated several thousand pounds of Tetrachloroethene (PCE) waste between 1988 to 1992.
