Additional Property Attributes

The City of Atlanta had Phase I and Limited Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) performed in late 2008/early 2009 as part of due diligence prior to acquiring the property for the Tanyard Creek Park Trail. The assessments identified recognized environmental conditions (RECs) as part of the trail construction. The brownfield has since been redeveloped with a section of the Atlanta BeltLine Northside Connector Trail which connects the City of Atlanta's 1.8-acre Ardmore Park with the 14.5-acre Tanyard Creek Park. About 500 feet of the mile-long Tanyard Creek Park Trail directly crosses this former brownfield. The PATH Foundation completed the trail construction in 2015. The City of Atlanta allocated $2.3 million in 2007 to purchase the property (in addition to surrounding greenspace) and construct the trail connection on the property. The County increased the assessed value estimate for the property by $200,000 since 2015.

Former Use: A railroad trestle crossed the property for over 100 years. CSX most recently operated along this rail corridor.
