Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The current Site building was constructed in 1850 for commercial use. The earliest identified uses include offices, a drugstore, and a fish market. A portion of the building was used for paint, oil, and drug storage. By 1900 a dentistry operated on Site and the fish market was replaced with a laundry facility (not dry cleaner). By 1910, the laundry facility was replaced by a fruit and cigar retailer, the dentist and insurance offices had been replaced by a stationery retailer and tailor, and the drug store had been replaced by a jeweler. All previously listed businesses had been replaced by a restaurant and a variety store selling drugs, jewelry, and stationery by 1921. By 1966 the Site was occupied by a clothing store and pharmacy. Site occupants since 1966 have included various pharmacies and drugstores, Radio Shack, and a business office. Presently, the Site is occupied by H&R Block (tax preparation services), Dark Mountain Games (board game retail store), and Clever Cow Designs (screen-printing and embroidery).
