Additional Property Attributes

The building on site was built in 1979. It was immediately leased to Hess Oil Company as a self-service gas station, and the tanks went out of service around 1987. In the 1990s, some local business owners used it as a food distribution service--Grandma's Old Fashioned Products. Some townspeople have memory of there being a pool hall and arcade in the building in the 2000s, but currently, the building is sitting vacant (crumbling roof and molding walls), and 3 underground storage tanks remain on site. Tim Mander, the buyer, owns the building next door to this on Broadway St., and was excited to be able to acquire this property as well. In his words, the Brownfield Program grant "makes spending money logical." The building on site will be demolished, and he will use the parking lot as spillover parking for his new business venture next door.
