Additional Property Attributes

The subject property served as a warehouse, a dry goods store, and shortly as a fraternal hall for Civil War veterans in 1912. The current property building was constructed sometime between 1910 and 1923. It has served as a garage building with 100-car capacity, a roller skating rink, a bowling alley, and most recently as a Kid's Community Center.

Asbestos-containing materials (ACM), lead-based paint (LBP), and mold were identified within the property building. It is recommended that all ACM and LBP that may be disturbed in future renovations are properly removed and disposed of according to all state and federal regulations. An alternative method to address the LBP would be encapsulation or enclosure, which would stabilize or limit availability of any LBP remaining. Due to the presence of mold, any leaks should be addressed at the property building, and vents should be cleaned to allow proper operation of the HVAC system.

Historical Sanborn fire insurance maps reviewed as part of the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) identified a gas tank depicted on the west side of the subject property building from at least as early as 1923 to 1932. A Phase II ESA is recommended to determine if there has been a release to the environment due to the historical gas tank.
