Additional Property Attributes

According to historical records, the subject site historically operated as a filling and service station from at least 1938 until approximately 1998. Records indicate that three (3) gasoline underground storage tanks (USTs) were in use at the subject site through 1993 and operated by the Montgomery Oil Company. In 2016, the OCC performed an investigation to identify the location of the USTs but the tank locations could not be determined. The original scope of the PH?II ESA included the removal of three (3) gasoline USTs and the completion of a subsurface investigation with associated soil and groundwater sampling. COCs were identified as benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene (BTEX), total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) metals. In advance of performing PH?II field activities, OES commissioned a ground penetrating radar (GPR) survey of the subject site to identify the locations of
the three (3) known USTs. The GPR survey was performed on March 3, 2022 and revealed the presence of up to eight (8) USTs at the subject site. Based on the results of the GPR survey, the scope of OES' PH?II ESA was modified to include the removal of additional USTs and limited the analysis of confirmation soil samples to RCRA metals. Furthermore, the subsurface investigation eliminated the installation of two (2) temporary monitoring wells from the original project scope and groundwater sampling was limited to the analysis of RCRA metals from four (4) onsite
monitoring wells. The scope of worked performed by OES for the PH?II ESA included the removal of six (6) USTs, closure in place of two (2) USTs, removal of product piping, and collection of associated soil samples. Additionally, OES installed one permanent groundwater monitoring well as a replacement for a well destroyed during UST removal activities and collected groundwater samples from four (4) onsite monitoring wells. OES is presently performing corrective actions under OCC Case #064?4276.
