Additional Property Attributes

The YWCA Great Falls is located at 220 2nd Street North in downtown Great Falls. The building was built in 1953 and was originally a dormitory and cafeteria. Through the years, they have created many areas to serve the community, from TechGirls computer room and Sparkette's original space, through created safe-spaces to shelter those in need of their missioned services beneath the building's roof.
They currently utilize the basement as an office, and the "Y's Buys" Thrift Store. The thrift store serves the purpose of offering low priced, gently-used clothing to the community. It also is the place that all Mercy Home participants can shop at no cost. When a family comes to the Mercy Home with nothing but the clothes on their backs, they can offer them school and job hunting clothing. The Mercy Home participants have been victims of domestic and/or sexual assault.

The second floor comprises the Mercy Home Shelter administration and program areas. Participants are women and their children that are battered physically, mentally and spiritually and are currently living in the Mercy Home or community. We offer them a confidential and safe place to live free of violence while they heal and become self-sufficient. The shelter is a 60-day program with options to leave or extend shelter.
