Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: UST Permit #03198. Summers Store was operated as a convenience store. The property and building were owned by Katie Summers, Three USTs had been registered at the site and were last used in the early 1990s. The UST system was owned and operated by Leon Barr, who rented the property from Katie Summers. Enforcement actions to obtain UST closure and assessment were intiated against Leon Barr in 1995. Mr Barr cannot be found. Ms Summer is deceased. George W Summer, her son, inherited the property and initially paid the property taxes. Mr Summer never completed probate procedures and did not officially own the property. Mr Summer stopped paying property taxes several years ago and Fairfield County offered a portion of the property for sale to satisfy back taxes. Within the last year, Mr Summer completed probate and subsequently sold the property to Vera Gladden and Elaine Grub. Vera Gladden and Elain Grub had the building razes and three reistered USTs removed from the ground in October 2004. Two additional USTs were found were also removed in October 2004.
