Additional Property Attributes

Historic record for the site indicates the building was constructed in 1950 and operated as a hotel until the property was acquired by the City of Missoula in April 2020. The City used the building as an emergency non-congregate shelter during the covid-19 pandemic from April 2020 to March 2022. A Phase II - ESA confirmed the presence of asbestos containing material throughout the building and lead-based paint around the maintenance shed. Environmental remediation and building deconstruction began in February 2023 and concluded in June 2023. The property is currently listed for sale and marketing of the property continues. The City of Missoula Affordable Housing Trust Fund is expected to receive funds from the sale of the property to invest back into affordable housing in the community.
