Property Highlights

The subject property currently serves as a public library. A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) revealed no recognized environmental conditions for the subject property. A portion of the subject property will be used for a community garden. A Phase II ESA was completed coincident with the Phase I ESA to assess surficial soils for metal contaminants. Arsenic was detected in all samples above the residential Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP) Remediation Goals (RGs), but below the industrial NDEE VCP RGs. All detected arsenic concentrations were within the natural background concentrations of arsenic for Lancaster County. The detected concentrations of arsenic are likely naturally occurring and require no further investigation.
