Addl Cleanup/Treatment info: Groundwater monitoring was conducted at wells MW-01, MW-02, and MW-03 on March 14, 2023 and August 31, 2023. Arsenic was detected in groundwater samples with maximum concentrations of 11.2 micrograms per liter and 20 ug/L in MW-01 in March and 10.9 ug/L in MW-02 in August. PCP and dioxins/furans were not detected during March or August sampling events in any of the wells.

Additional Property Attributes

Numerous assessment and cleanup activities have taken place at this site. These include removal of USTs, asbestos abatement, soil and ground water sampling. A cap was installed in 2014 to remediate contaminated soils. This property will be re-used for the future Recycling Facility. Former Use: This is a multi-use property. Previous site uses included wood treatment of posts and poles with a PCP-diesel mixture and dip tanks (during this time, site was knowns as Nespelem Post and Pole). The Tribal Fish and Wildlife Department housed office space with attached boat garage, a large warehouse used to house unclaimed property, another large warehouse for maintenance and repair of logging equipment. Other RECs within the property included debris piles, old tires, ACM in buildings and USTs. In Summer 2019, a wild land fire (Greenhouse Fire) burned over the property and burned down the former Fish & Wildlife offices and some of the Recycling facility buildings.
