Additional Property Attributes

The prospective purchasers are working to get property under contract and will work with DEQ or RIBC to conduct cleanup and redevelopment. (PPF Cahill Oil, 8/2/06)

Former Use: The site has operated as a gasoline service station since the USTs were installed in 1976. A convenience store also operates on the site. A former Circle K service station and convenience store operated under a lease on a portion of the property. Circle K was granted closure by DEQ in 1999 after 3 USTs and associated contamination were removed. The site was being utilized as a petroleum storage and distribution operation with five 20,000 gallon capacity USTs and associated dispensers. The former site owners went through bankruptcy proceedings and the site foreclosed on by the Community Reinvestment Fund, Inc. a non-profit. The CRF worked to settle several IRS liens against the property. Once the lien issue was settled, CRF sold the property to the current owner, Tom Gaskins.
