Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Truman Road Business Park Expansion Area is a commercial/industrial area generally bounded by Jackson Ave. and Spruce Ave. to the west, Cloon Ave. to the north, Elmwood Ave. to the east and Kansas City Terminal Rail Road tracks to the south. About half of the properties are vacant in this 15-acre property. A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) of the Truman Road Corridor to the immediate south indicated potential for subsurface impacts from automotive service, auto salvage, metal finishing, roofing, and other current and past commercial/light industrial operations. The City of Kansas City applied for a Phase I ESA to confirm the presence or absence of potential contamination at the property. The Economic Development Corporation is working with a potential out-of-town business end user for this property, who intends to relocate a company with 36 employees and an expected investment of over $2 million in new facilities. Currently, KC Windustrial (distribution center for manufacturing), Bradco Supply co. (distribution center for roofing supplies), St. Paul Stamp Co. (silk screen and rubber stamp manufacturer), Earl Hankins Roofing Co. and one vacant property.
