Former Use: The subject property consisted of undeveloped land with a small creek, railroad line, and a portion of an industrial building on the eastern portion from at least 1953 until before 1964 when the building and railroad were demolished and abandoned, respectively. The creek was also filled at the same time. The subject property has remained undeveloped land since this time. The subject property was formerly used as part of operations on the west adjoining property, which included industrial operations (Chicago Lumbering Co, Burrell Chemical CO, Lake Superior Iron and Chemical Co, and Charcoal iron of America). Remains of charcoal kins and slag piles can be seen on the subject property. Industrial operations ceased in about 1950 and the property was vacant until constrxution of the Camp Manistique Prison in 1991. The prison operated until 2007 and has been vacant since then. This property includes the parcel known as Pine Street Road Exapnsion. (PPF � 3/31/09).
