Additional Property Attributes

The Oklahoma City Housing Authoritys Will Rogers Courts provides housing for low, to very-low income residents of the City of Oklahoma City. The property consists of 85 townhouse buildings with basements and crawl spaces. The building and structures are utilized as public housing for the qualified residents of the City of Oklahoma City on which the Grantee desires to carry out an asbestos abatement to address hazardous substances that have been identified in the basements at the property. The abatement will include 3 deep basements and 22 shallow basements. The total cost of abatement is estimated at 363,613. Federal regulations provide that a BRLF sub grant cannot exceed 150,000. The funds granted would be for the actual costs of abatement up to 150,000. 200,000 will be paid for out of funds direct from the EPA awarded to Will Rogers in 2010. 13,613.00 will be paid through HUD Capital Funds. Any costs incurred in excess of this amount will be paid by OCHA Will Rogers Courts..

Former Use: The public housing complex was constructed in 1937 by the US Public Works Administration. It was transferred to the housing authority in 1966. It is used only for public housing.
