Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The Site is currently vacant and consists of a long rectangular-shaped vacant parcel approximately 2 acres in size. The Site is primarily wooded or covered by thick vegetation with large open grassy areas. Several debris piles of general household trash, piles of yard waste and miscellaneous construction debris are located throughout the central and west boundary area of the Site. Remnants of a former concrete drive and foundation are located in the south-central and southeast portions of the Site. The Site was originally utilized for residential purposes until approximately 1937. In the 1950�s the Site was occupied by the Indianapolis Cartage Company then the Ford Motor Company in 1960�s and these businesses appeared to be involved in logistics. In 1975 the Site was listed as Demolition, Inc. then between the 1980�s and 1990, the Site was listed as Fairfield Recycling. Historical aerial photographs and Sanborn fire insurance maps indicate that the historical onsite structure was primarily located in the central portion of the southern third of the Site, was rectangular in shape, and was oriented in a north south-direction. It appeared to be a warehouse with an elevated trucking dock suitable for loading and unloading trucks. The former onsite structure appears to have been razed between 1997 and 1999 and fill material (as evidenced through historical aerial photographs) periodically appeared to have been stockpiled throughout the northern half of the Site between the 1970's and 1990's.
