A soils management plan was prepared that was implemented during redevelopment. Impacted soil that needed to be excavated was placed in a consolidation area at the northern end of the property and capped with 12 inches of clean soil. Where impacted soil remained in place, it was below a 12 inch clean soil cap or other hard surface.

Property Highlights

This property is unique in that Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage Dept (MMSD) has a deep tunnel access point and an easement across the site. Because of this easement, the property is largely undeveloped-able. Therefore, our vision for the future of the site includes cleanup and use as a storm water management demonstration project. (PPF - 7/13/07)

Former Use: Historical land uses of site include a railroad line and a truck filling station. Adjacent land uses include a bulk oil station, plastics manufacturing building, a pump house, a garage, and several large iron oil tanks. (PPF - 7/13/2007)
