Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The property is currently vacant. The property is the former location of a gas station and auto repair facility. The property has been owned by Mr. William Enterkin since 1983. Mrs. Julie McLendon has a contract to purchase the property and has enrolled in the Escambia County Brownfields Program seeking financial assistance for Environmental Site Assessments to satisfy AAI Due Diligence requirements for Prospective Purchaser Landowner Liability Protections (LLPs) under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act of 1980 (CERCLA) amended by the Small Business Liability Relief and Brownfields Revitalization Act of 2001. Mrs. McLendon owns and operated D&D Cycles, a motorcycle sales and repair store, which is the adjacent property to 3517 Old Fairfield. Mrs. McLendon plans to expand the showroom and repair shop after the purchase of the property. The property is located in the Englewood Community Redevelopment Area and was designated a Brownfield on September 21, 2006 in order to qualify for Brownfields incentives. A Phase I was completed and recommended a Phase II based on the presence of the underground storage tanks and site history. The USTs were removed in late December 2006 and a UST Closure Assessment Report has been completed and found no evidence of significant release of petroleum was evident. Funding for the tank removals was provided bu Escambia Countys Community Development Block Grant. A Quality Assurance Project Plan has been submitted to EPA and the Phase II will proceed upon approval of the plan. (PPF-10/31/06)
