Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: Property was used by the Town of Bluffton landfill for disposal of household garbage, construction debris and vegetation debris from mid-1950's until 1981. Property also used as shooting range for law enforcement until 1998. The Town of Bluffton entered into a voluntary cleanup contract with the Department in 2004 to assess and ultimately removed firing range berm soil as reported in Firing Range Berm Environmental Assessment Report, dated March 14, 2006. After removal of lead impacted soil by the Town of Bluffton through a Voluntary Cleanup Contract, State Brownfields Assessment Grant funding was used to perform a Site Specific Assessment to evaluate any impacts to soil and groundwater from use of property as a landfill and firing range berm.
