Additional Property Attributes

Former Use: The subject property was unimproved land used for the storage of timber between approximately 1939 and 1975. The timber was stored on the subject property until a train transported it from the northern adjoining property. Rail lines have existed north of the northern adjoining property since at least 1939. The timber was stored in log form and was reportedly not treated. In approximately 1975, Mr. Clayton St. Martin purchased the subject property, along with the northern adjoining property and it reportedly was not used for any significant purposes. Mr. St. Martin occasionally hunted on the subject property. In 1992, Mr. Drent purchased the subject property to use for his structural steel fabrications business. Large pieces of steel were delivered to the subject property. Mr. Drent and his employees then cut and assembled the steel into structural frames. The frames were then transported to their permanent location to be assembled further. Assembly involved welding the cut steel pieces together. In 1994 an addition to the subject building was started, however it has not yet been completed. Operations at Superior Welding and Fabrications ceased in 1998. Currently, the addition is not completed. The subject property is currently industrial. The property is used for storage of steel and the owners personal items. (PPF, 10/9/07)
